Dr. Trevor Cole is a west coast artist well known for his land and seascapes paintings.
As an artist and educational consultant, Trevor has had the opportunity to travel extensively at home and throughout the world.
The inspiration from his travels is captured in the special moods, and texture of his paintings.
Trevor studied education and art as an undergraduate at the
University of British Columbia.
His work has been influenced by artists John Blockley and Valfred Thelin with whom he has studied.
He has won a number of awards and his art work has been acquired by numerous individuals and collectors in Canada, United States, Japan,
Europe, United Kingdom and Australia.
Trevor enjoys all aspects of creating a painting. He starts by taking in the images of the West Coast of Canada and from his travels around the world. Trevor also uses photographic reference material and then he recreates those images in his own way.
Even the act of squeezing paint onto his paint tray and taking messy brushes, mixing colour and applying it is an exciting and mindful process. Finally framing and seeing the finished article on a wall, or in someones home, or gallery become a magical process for Trevor that is both satisfying and rewarding.
Serious collectors or art enthusiast are welcome to make an appointment to visit his ocean view studio in Campbell River.
